This is an free Acorn RISC OS software application that solves/finds solution of certain Quadratic Diophantine Equations, of the form x^2 + B.x.y + A.y^2 = z^p, (e.g. x^2 + y^2 = z^2, two squares adding to a square, or x^2 + y^2 = z^3, two squares adding to a cube), and is available for free download.

After having downloaded and unzipped the !QuadDioph Application, drag the application to a suitable directory on your hard disc. Double click on the !QuadDioph icon to load it onto the icon bar.

Clicking on the bar icon brings up the main 'SetUp' panel.

Enter your chosen parameters, for the equation, into the writable slots on the 'SetUp' panel and then click on the 'Calculate' icon. The particular solution for x, y and z, for the parameters m and n, is returned in the slots concerned.

Additional Help is available from the bar icon menu, or by using the Acorn facility !Help, present in the 'Apps' directory.

Please read the text file !ReadMe present within this application for conditions of use. This can be obtained by holding down 'Shift' and double clicking over the application icon.

The Text File 'HelpText', inside the downloaded zipped file, explains the calculation that is performed, and the, also included, Text File 'Maths' explains the Mathematics concerned.

NB 1.Should be 32-bit compatible.

2. You may need to Set the system variable C$Path to point to your Shared C Library e.g. In an Obey File or on the command line (Press F12) type 'Set C$Path ADFS::HardDisc4.$.CLib.o.', note final dot.

3. Alternatively, 'seeing' or running the Acorn compiler application, present with the compiler, '!SetPaths', seems to do the trick.

Click on icon to DownLoad Zipped !QuadDioph Version 1.00, Dated 18th August 2011. NB Change the IBM filetype FROM '.zipped' TO '.zip', and Acorn File Type to 'Archive', to enable zip file decompressing.
